On the Road
My husband and I recently had the opportunity to go back to Nashville to work on some research. We were thrilled because it meant we could eat at some of our favorite places that we’ve been missing so dearly.
We had the delicious vegetarian Indian buffet at Woodlands (seen above). We ate at Fido and I had my beloved huevos rancheros. We ate (twice) at Marche: one night I had an amazing duck confit and a slice of butternut squash tart (oh, the tart crusts. Tom is a master), and for breakfast one morning I had a delicious combo of crusty bread, buttered and toasted, with brie, apples, and balsamic honey. Delicious bacon on the side doesn’t hurt either. I love how Marche takes a theme (bread, cheese, and fruit or vegetable) and always comes up with something beautiful. I had something similar for my last meal at Marche before we moved.
We had coffee and snacks at Crema not once, not twice, but four times. I was afraid the staff there would think we were a little crazy. But the truth is, I’ve missed Nashville food so much and was determined to get as much in as possible. We still haven’t found a replacement for much of what we enjoyed in Nashville.
